In 1991 Acoustica^® was the first to introduce polyester sound and thermal insulating materials to Australia. This breakthrough with polyesters revolutionised the industry by overcoming health and recycling issues associated with the then existing products.

Since 2003, Acoustica^® has developed a replacement for PVC products based on organic (food waste) products, which is 100% environmentally friendly, yet extremely durable.

Acoustica^® has also developed a high performance drywall noise barrier, which is revolutionary for the industry as it delivers six-star acoustic performance, a class above the BCA requirements, from the thinnest possible wall. QuietWave^® wall system provides a saving of 50% in the width of the wall against a comparable 6 star rated wall system. m² of floor-space is gained for every 6.6 m length of wall, reducing the overall footprint of the apartment block.

Acoustica’s latest development is a new fire-coating and fire-product which is not only completely fire-proof, but 100% ‘green,’ requires very little energy to produce, and contains very little ‘embodied energy.’

Acoustica^® has been nominated as a finalist in the Western Sydney Industry Awards 2007 in recognition of these developments.
